22nd Annual Keyesville Classic
Mountain Bike Stage Race
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
The weekend was an absolutely outstanding success! We received so much positive feedback, so much support, and feel like everyone went away from the event happy. This race is a classic for a reason. How can you not have fun in such a wonderful, laid-back environment, surrounded by cool people and spring wildflowers? We had over 25% more racers than last year, and we're expecting the event to grow for next year.
Click on the Results link where you'll find all the results as PDF's. We had them up and posted on the same day as each event. We're still working on photos, but all racers will be able download free digital copies of photos from the event in the next day or two.
Thanks also to the many sponsors who not only made the event possible, but also made the raffle our best ever! The women's fashion show was a hoot, and the Women of Dirt screening was inspiring to say the least. Let's double, no triple the number of women racing here next year!
We'll be adding features to the web site, and we'll be active on Twitter and Facebook with announcements, news and pictures to keep the love flowing until next year.
We're so looking forward to the next 22 years of the Keyesville Classic!

Cross Country ♦ Downhill ♦ Short Track ♦ Trials ♦ Kids Race ♦ Poker Ride
For 22 years, the Keyesville Classic has drawn casual riders, pro mountain bike racers and their friends and families to participate in a fun-filled weekend of bike-related events and activities. From the entertaining Vintage class and trials events to the highly challenging Bionicon All-Mountain Stage Race where riders tackle the Short Track, Cross-Country and Downhill courses all on the same bike, the Keyesville Classic has something for everyone, riders and spectators alike.
Every year, the Keyesville Classic brings together local riders, advocacy groups and racers from all over the West Coast to raise awareness and generate contributions for trail stewardship in the Kern River Valley, and southern California. Up until last year, the Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association (SSFTA) in Bakersfield ran the event, and at one point it was the largest race on the west coast. Bionicon now directs the event with support from the SSFTA from their recently reopened headquarters in Kernville, having overcome the loss of their brand new demo center in Wofford Heights to fire in mid-September.
There will be free camping onsite, affordable catered meals available, and evening entertainment including night rides, a women's bike apparel fashion show, movie screenings and bonfires. Bike races will be held all day on Saturday and Sunday, with a very popular kids race and a raffle. Kern River Brewing Company has invited racers to pick up their packets and socialize at the brewery on Friday afternoon from 1-8pm. The race kick-off meeting will be held at the brewery at 6:00 pm Friday evening, with a movie showing that evening as well.
